What satisfied horse owners have to say…
“Lucia is a amazing horsewoman. Her methods are firm but fair; she can read a horse like no other.
I met her in 2018 as a 1st time client. We were so impressed with her skills and the results we got that when I bought myself a new prospect I got in touch with her right away and told her put me on her list. We didn’t want to take my filly to anyone else! She is 3 hours from us but completely worth the drive. I know my horse is very well cared for and will get a great foundation that will stick.”

“Lucia came highly recommended to me when I was looking for someone to start my gelding under saddle. I was nervous because he was a big nervous unhandled 7 year old and I wasn’t sure if he would ever make a nice riding horse. When I brought him to her you could somewhat halter and lead him around if you moved slowly but that was it. Fast forward five months and I could not be happier with the horse I got back. He is relaxed, a complete joy to ride. The amount she was able to accomplish with him in that amount of time was astounding. From standing tied, standing quiet while being saddled and bridled to riding around relaxed on a long rein at all gaits. I love her methods. She takes her time and adapts her methods to what the horse needs. I also learned a ton from her in the process. She remains available for questions should anything come up. I would use her again in a heartbeat and look forward to continuing to work with her in the future to continue to grow with my boy.”

“After being faced with the decision of either selling my older gelding who had a lot of issues or investing in him (and my own riding and skills), I sent him to Lucia for 90 days. I was rewarded with a much more quiet, willing, and confident partner as well as significant progression in my own riding, confidence, and horsemanship skills. I went from not being confident enough to ride my gelding due to fear of being bucked off and uncertainty of how to help him through some of the issues we were having to easily riding him at the walk, trot, and canter in or out of the arena. We have logged 100’s of miles on the trail now and I could not be happier with how far both of us have come, all thanks to Lucia. I continue to seek her out for lessons and help with my gelding’s refinement and my personal development. She is an outstanding teacher and horse-woman. I am extremely particular about who I will and will not trust with my horses. I would not hesitate to send another horse to her and I highly recommend her for your horse training and development needs.”

Foundation Matters.
Halter Breaking
This includes leading with a soft feel, experience standing tied, basic groundwork maneuvers, and comfortable with human presence.
30 Day Minimum
Colt Starting
Starting colts is a marathon, not a sprint. We pride ourselves in how our groundwork confidently prepares a young horse for the first ride. Colts learn to confidently carry humans, walk, trot, lope, stop and back. They learn to travel centered, how to soften and find their balance as they get fit. Get hauling, time standing tied, bathing experience, and comfortable with flags and ropes.
90 Day Minimum
Refinement
Horses that have been under saddle a minimum of 6 months of consistent riding. This program is tailored to the horse individually and the goals of the owner.. our main goal is the horse to find "center", a place of no pressure and to learn to soften and gain skills needed for the show pen and/or trail riding.
